Wave Chieftain - Fishing Falmouth Throughout The YearCornishfishing.co.uk

Well what a miserable old year it was as far as the weather was concerned…. Cancellation after Cancellation, however we managed to make the most of what little time we were given when it was good and some great fish were landed, however a noticeable lack of good fish on the wrecks was apparent and the size of the Pollack was generally lower than previous years.

The Cod fishing went through the roof in early summer and then died off to all but nothing, along with the Whitting !!! The Mackerel shoals were very hit and miss throughout the year, but we were inundated with smalls in late August, making perfect bait for the hungry predators such as the Ling, however we found our selves having to buy bait in for our Shark fishing requirements.

The Shark season was definitely down on previous years, plenty of numbers but a vast amount of small fish , with very few 100lb plus being landed, hopefully 2013 will bring us better luck with the weather .
