· Basic 30lb class rods and reels are available

· Shark rods and heavy gear available

· All terminal tackle available, hooks, line, weights etc

· We supply bait boards, live tank and knives.

· Depths of over three hundred feet are common so make sure your gear is up to it as a little reel takes a lot of winding , often anglers turn up with granddads rod and reel that’s been in the family for years and it goes home in pieces, its your day out, don't let your tackle spoil it.

Cornwall boat fishing trip,Steve Penrose, Adrian Hill and Jack Hodge (Junior ) fishing for some Mackerel for bait just off St.Mawes,Cornwall. the picture was taken one early summers morning onboard the fishing vessel Blue Minstrel. These fish were then put intothe live bait tank ready for a days wreck fishing off the Cornish coast.

The key to catching is knowing what bait to use, and how and when to use it

As a rule we us fresh or live baits and catch them on the day, however we recommend that you bring a back up just in case, Ammo produce a good quality range of frozen baits and are available from all good tackle shops.

Mackerel, Squid and Sand eel  are all favourites that produce excellent results

On the bigger tides we use artificial lures such as shads and red gills, many an hour we have debated what colours are best, however you can guarantee a whopper gets caught on something obscure every time , banana skin, sausages and the like have all tempted fish over the side in the past and produces a good chuckle amongst the crew.

We use only local suppliers for bait and support them through out the year
